Where To Start

1. Become an informed consumer. There are many options for reducing energy and natural resource consumption (solar electric, solar hot water, solar thermal – passive solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, water conservation.) It’s important to find out what kind of system would be right for you.  Go to our links page for resources we found helpful to learn more about renewable energy. Year round tour sites can be found at https://www.midwestrenew.org/solartour.

2. Analyze your energy consumption. Becoming a wise renewable energy customer includes finding ways to reduce your energy needs. For every $1 spent on reducing your energy consumption, $3 may be saved on a renewable energy system. To start, review your electricity and natural gas bills for the past year or two.

3. Contact us at customerservice@appleton-solar.com. If you’d like to find out if a solar electric system would be right for you, we’d be happy to perform a site assessment on your property. A site assessment will provide with a detailed report of the solar electric potential of your property, an energy consumption analysis of your property, and information on the financial incentives available to you.

"I'd put my money on solar energy... I hope we don't have to wait 'til oil and coal run out before we tackle that."
-Thomas Edison, in conversation with Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone, March 1931
