On the first weekend of October, the American Solar Energy Society sponsors the National Solar Tour. This SELF-GUIDED event is FREE and open to the public. Nationally, homeowners, businesses and municipalities that are harnessing solar energy volunteer their locations for people to visit and learn about solar energy.  This is a true community event as neighbors stop by to talk to neighbors about how solar is working for them. 

Appleton Solar is proud to have 4 of our 438+ solar electric installations ​in the 2024 National Solar Tour.  
Many of the tour homes are reducing their electricity consumption by over 50%!
Some homes have other forms of sustainable technologies (water conservation, solar hot water,
solar lighting, wood hot water heat, battery backup, and electric vehicle charging.)
